If you think it is time to stop smoking, the FDA is trying to help.
Today the $80 billion tobacco industry has been banned by the FDA from marketing to young people and are prohibited from distributing branded merchandise such as T-shirts. In addition, they are no longer permitted to sponsor sporting or entertainment events.
“Every day, nearly 4,000 kids under 18 try their first cigarette and 1,000 kids under 18 become daily smokers.” Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said. The new bans will “help our kids stay healthy by making it harder for tobacco companies to target them with harmful and addictive products.
If you’re a parent and still smoke, it’s time to quit. Your example is important to your children and your third hand smoke is directly harming them.
Quitting is tough but it can be done. Find and make use of a nicotine replacement product. It is a proven fact that it is never too late to quit. Our bodies start to heal within minutes of taking that last puff.
Just imagine..everyday 4,000 kids try cigarettes. It’s time to stop smoking!
